My muses seem to have returned, at least for a little while. This is a good thing as I have signed up to participate in this year's National Novel Writing Month (you can find me under the username of jann_owen), commencing in four days. You can expect to see more written work posted here as I try to shift my creative gears into text mode.

In what seems to be a recurring theme, I am home sick again. This seems to happen every few weeks and it's starting to get annoying. What's kind of surreal, though (I know that's not the right word, but I'm using it anyway until I can find the more apt choice) is that I can still miss a day every few weeks or so and I'm still right up near the top of my class. In other good news, I passed my physical fitness test (despite being ill), so I can keep my job! Now all that's left is to survive what's left of school.

I also got to see Garrison Keillor this past Sunday performing at the Golden State Theatre. The venue was gorgeous, and the man is even funnier in person than he is on the radio. It was funny to note that I was one of the youngest paying attendees. It's also safe to say that this is a memory that I will treasure for as long as I live.
